Did you know? Melatonin is such an important hormone! It is made all throughout the body in the gastrointestinal tract, retina, thymus, bone marrow, and by white blood cells called leukocytes. Melatonin is synthesized by the pineal gland in the brain.
Besides regulating sleep and our relationship with light and dark, melatonin wears a lot of other hats.
Melatonin is a power anti-oxidant, hormone protector and up-regulator of critical molecules like glutathione.
